You need 15 out of 20 correct answers (75%) to pass the Canadian citizenship test. There's no grading curve and no partial credit — each question is simply right or wrong.

What the Numbers Mean

With 20 questions, you can get a maximum of 5 wrong and still pass. That may sound like a thin margin, but the pass rate of roughly 87% shows that most prepared applicants do well. Aim to consistently score 17+ on practice tests to give yourself a comfortable buffer.
